Terms and conditions for using our lost property recovery service
Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using the Findr Dublin lost property recovery service. By using our service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
In these Terms, the following definitions apply:
Findr Dublin provides a lost property logistics service that:
Important: We do NOT collect, store, or return the following items:
Government-issued identification documents found at Partner Venues are retained by the venue or reported to An Garda Síochána in accordance with Irish law.
To make a Claim for a lost Item:
Before releasing any Item, we require verification of ownership. This may include:
We reserve the right to request additional verification and to refuse release of an Item if we are not satisfied that ownership has been proven.
While we make every effort to reunite Customers with their lost property, we cannot guarantee that:
A non-refundable Finder's Fee is charged for successful Item recovery:
| Timeframe | Finder's Fee |
|---|---|
| Claim within 3 days of loss | €5 |
| Claim within 7 days of loss | €8 |
| Claim within 21 days of loss | €10 |
| Claim within 30 days of loss | €15 |
Items not claimed within 30 days of collection become the property of Findr Dublin (see Section 5.2) and are no longer available for recovery.
Express/priority service (same-day collection where available): €20-€25
If you choose delivery rather than collection from our Sandyford facility:
Delivery charges are based on current courier rates and may vary. Exact costs will be confirmed before payment.
We accept payment via:
Payment must be received in full before Items are released or dispatched.
Finder's Fees are non-refundable once an Item has been positively identified and ownership verified. Delivery charges may be refunded if delivery fails due to our error.
Items are stored at our secure facility for a maximum of 30 days from the date of collection from the Partner Venue.
Important: After 30 days from collection, any unclaimed Item becomes the legal property of Findr Dublin. The original owner's right to claim the Item lapses, and the bailment relationship (see Section 6.1) terminates. By using our Service or by virtue of an Item entering our custody through a Partner Venue, the original owner acknowledges and agrees to this transfer of ownership.
Once ownership has transferred to Findr Dublin under Section 5.2, Items may be processed at our sole discretion as follows:
Revenue from any sale of unclaimed Items is retained by Findr Dublin to support the continued operation of the Service. All disposals are documented and logged for compliance purposes.
Once an Item has been donated, recycled, sold, or otherwise disposed of, it cannot be recovered, and no compensation will be payable to the original owner.
Where contact details for the likely owner are available (for example, through a prior claim enquiry or identifiable information associated with the Item), we will make reasonable efforts to notify the owner before the 30-day period expires. However, failure to notify does not extend the storage period or prevent the transfer of ownership under Section 5.2.
In exceptional circumstances, we may agree to extend the storage period. Extension requests must be made in writing before the 30-day period expires and are granted at our sole discretion.
When we collect Items from Partner Venues, a bailment relationship is created. We act as bailee, holding Items for the benefit of their rightful owners. This is a gratuitous bailment for the benefit of a third party (the item owner). The bailment relationship terminates 30 days after collection, at which point ownership transfers to Findr Dublin under Section 5.2. After this date, Findr Dublin owes no further duty of care to the original owner in respect of the Item.
We exercise reasonable care in the storage and handling of Items, including:
Important Liability Notice:
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
Items with a value exceeding €1,000 are stored at the owner's risk. We strongly recommend that owners of high-value Items collect them in person from our facility within 7 days of notification.
Findr Dublin assumes responsibility for Items from the point of collection from Partner Venues. We have no liability for Items before they are collected, and Partner Venues bear no liability for Items after transfer to us.
We do NOT access, attempt to unlock, or view any data stored on electronic devices. Phones and tablets are catalogued by external appearance only.
We do not charge devices during storage. Devices may be returned with depleted batteries.
If you have a "Find My iPhone", "Find My Device", or similar tracking service enabled, please do not attempt to mark the device as lost or trigger remote alarms while in our possession. Contact us first to verify we have your device.
Delivery is provided via third-party courier services (An Post, DPD, or similar). We are not responsible for delays caused by courier services, incorrect addresses provided by the Customer, or delivery failures due to recipient unavailability.
Items are shipped with tracking. Risk of loss passes to the Customer upon handover to the courier service.
Customers may collect Items in person from our Sandyford facility by appointment during business hours (Monday-Friday, 9am-6pm, or by arrangement). Valid identification may be required.
